Failures are the gateway to new ideas ---- Misserfolge sind das Tor zu neuen Ideen

If you see all my paintings that I have painted so far, you would think that I would have gotten every one of them right the first time. Ok my error rate is really low, but this painting is one of them, it's only available as a photo because I painted over it. It is now under the bokeh painting. But failure is part of the painting process, too, and I'll make countless "mistakes".

Whereby there are no mistakes in art. Every brushstroke, every blob of paint could be declared as art. The name "failure" we assign our works only for the reason that we don´t like them at that moment and our claims are too high.

But through painting you are automatically confronted with these so-called mistakes and failures. Maybe more than in many other areas of life. Here, if you really want to continue painting, you have to accept it, accept it as it is and see it as a learning process and development, not as a "mistake".

Wenn ihr all meine Bilder die ich bisher gemalt habe seht, könnte man meinen, ich hätte jedes einzelne davon auf Anhieb so hinbekommen. Ok meine Fehlerquote ist wirklich sehr niedrig, aber dieses Bild ist so eins, das gibt es nur als Foto weil ich es übermalt habe. Es befindet sich unter dem Bokeh-Bild. Aber das gehört auch dazu und ich werde noch unzählig viele "Fehler" machen. 

Wobei es in der Kunst eigentlich keine Fehler gibt. Jeder Pinselstrich, jeder Farbklecks könnte als Kunst deklariert werden. Den Namen "Fehler" vergeben wir unseren Werken selbst nur aus dem Grunde, weil sie uns in dem Augenblick nicht gefallen und unseren Ansprüchen nicht genügen. 

Doch durch die Malerei wird man automatisch mit diesen sogenannten Fehlern und Misserfolgen konfrontiert. Vielleicht mehr als in vielen anderen Bereichen. Hier muss man sich nun, wenn man wirklich weitermalen möchte, damit abfinden, es akzeptieren wie es ist und es als Lernprozess und Entwicklung sehen und nicht als "Fehler".
